Architectural practice, Mitchell Evans, has appointed Vale Southern Construction for four residential projects. Involving a variety of refurbishments and extensions, the contracts will enhance homes in the southeast of England.
The largest will see Vale Southern deliver a £1m internal refurbishment to an extensive Victorian property within 36 weeks. Operating in a highly constrained site, the team will modify the home’s interior, including extending an existing conservatory and converting the roof space to create a new games room.
A few miles away, Vale Southern will be extending the orangery of a home built in the 1900s. The kitchen area will also be refurbished as part of the contract.
The third project involves an oak-frame extension as well as new windows and modifications to the property’s kitchen and bathrooms.
A former manor house is the focus of the fourth contract. Here, Vale Southern will be carrying out a two-stage refurbishment. An existing clock house and former stable will be removed to create an open plan kitchen and a large living and dining area with stunning five metre ceilings. The work will be delivered while the homeowners remain in the property.
Toby Howell, Partner at Mitchell Evans, said: “We chose Vale Southern for these projects as they are contractors with a good track record for delivering prime cost contracts in a timely manner and on budget. We also welcome the team’s ability to work with a short lead-in time and their responsive and professional attitude.”
Oliver West, Managing Director of Vale Southern, added: “These projects build on our strong working relationship with Mitchell Evans and will be delivered simultaneously by our team. Our focus is on ensuring the works meet the architect’s specific design requirements and the needs of the homeowner. Effective communication with both parties is essential to deliver the projects to the highest standards, on time and within budget.”
