Job Summary

Situated in Portsmouth Vale Southern Construction Ltd have over 28 years of experience across the country within the construction industry. We pride ourselves with the professional service we provide to the client and their design team. Our main core business is that of Main Contractor and we are capable of carrying out all types of Building Construction including Major or Minor Refurbishments, New Build and Major Extensions. There is no one particular sector we are involved in as we do work for the commercial, council’s and private sectors.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Managing and overseeing all aspects of project works
  • Supervising assigned company personnel and sub-contractors
  • Implementing project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards.
  • Undertaking regular formal inspections of sites and sub-contractors work in accordance with company policy
  • Preparing progress reports and technical reports for clients and for internal use
  • Ensuring client satisfaction during projects and at handover
  • Dealing with contractual matters
  • Supporting the preparation of bids when required
  • Keeping up to date with industry best practice
  • Reporting to the Commercial Manager
  • Qualifications and Skills

    • Good IT skills (Excel, MS Project, Outlook, Autocad)
    • HNC Level Qualification (Preferable not essential)
    • Be able to take-off drawings
    • Experience of reading and accurately interpreting drawings and technical specifications
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with both customers and all levels of staff
    • Problem solving skills and analytical thinking
