Steve began his career in the construction industry 47 years ago as a bricklayer. Over time, he has developed his skills in general construction which allowed him to become a site manager. He has now been a site manager for Vale Southern Construction for more than 20 years and has overseen some of our largest projects including multiple Premier Inn projects.
Louis recently began his career at Vale in the pest control department. He splits his time between work, chasing butterflies and pigeons and chewing on his toys. In his short tenure, he has become an office favourite.
Abigail recently joined Vale Southern Construction to coincide with her apprenticeship in business administration. She has always had a keen eye for architecture and design leading to her completing a Level 3 BTEC in Art and Design. She has a wealth of experience in busy environments which has shown in her time with Vale Southern Construction.
Marshall joined the company in 2019 after the completion of his Economics degree at the University of Brighton. While at university, he spent a year in industry where he built the necessary skills, allowing him to make a smooth transition into Vale Southern Construction Ltd.
Kenny started his career as a carpenter gaining skills in general construction and new build projects. Over time, he has moved into mainstream construction, gaining experience and qualifications in site management. Kenny is now the contracts manager for Vale Southern Construction, overseeing multiple projects.
Ashely joined the company in 2017, having completed a degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management at Loughborough University. While there, he gained experience at a tier one contractor before moving to Vale Southern Construction Ltd.
Sue joined the company in 2015 and brought with her a wealth of experience of the Construction Industry to help our busy office.
Tony has over 35 years’ experience in the construction industry. For 18 years he has been working with Vale Southern Construction Ltd. Tony started with us as a Site Manager and then decided to hang up his tools and joined the office team giving technical support to our sites.
Martin has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry. For 21 years he has been working with Vale Southern Construction Ltd. Martin started with Vale Construction originally as a carpenter and was quickly promoted to site manager; in 1994 he became Contracts Director. During 2006 he purchased the firm from his co-directors and since that time the company has grown into a multi-million pound business with Martin as Managing Director.
Oliver joined the company in 2011as a trainee Quantity Surveyor. Keen to follow in his father’s footsteps, he has been promoted to the role of Assistant Commercial Manager. His current role is to financially and contractually run projects both independently and as part of a team.
Karen has been working at Vale Southern Construction for the past 22 years and as well as her role as Financial Controller she is PA to Martin West and oversees all office administration within the company.
Dave has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry. For 17 years he has been working with Vale Southern Construction Ltd. Dave started his career as a carpenter/cabinet maker, gaining skills in general construction and new builds projects. Over time he moved into mainstream construction gaining experience and qualifications in site management his love of the hospitality environment has seen him complete many new build projects for both Whitbread and Greene King.
