Walnut Tree – Southampton

Client: Greene King
Project Description: New Build 2 storey Farmhouse Pub
Location: Southampton
Project Value: £1.8M
Programme: 23 weeks
Form of Contract: JCT Intermediate with Contractor’s Design 2011

This project was negotiated with Greene King following previous successful new builds in , Farnborough, Thanet, and Havant.

The Works involved Piled Foundations , traditional 2 storey Masonry cavity walls. Partly rendered, partly timber clad, with a Pitched and Flat roof.

We utilised our Team of subcontractors who have had previous experience on these works and included M&E and finishing trades.

The Works involved extensive civil works including roads and Car parks. The Drainage works were significantly changed during the contract utilising SUDS design to increase the storage of Rainwater on the site. These works were carried out over a very wet winter and proved challenging to keep the whole site working and the surrounding environment clean.

The Building is fast track and was watertight within 14 weeks allowing 1 10 week fit out period.

This fit out included New Bar and Extensive joinery package GK Employ many Direct Subcontractors and these have to be dovetailed into our Programme.

A Garden Area and Conservatory were added late into the Programme and this has been built as a showcase for future Farmhouse Inns.
