Fire damage re-instatement – £170k
This was a virtual re-build of a 2300 sq ft industrial unit which was severely damaged in an arson fire.
Tendered as a JCT Design & Build, VBS won the contract through innovative proposals to fully re-instate the structure to the latest Building regulations, whilst maintaining a design sympathetic with the adjacent units which were built in the mid-eighties.
This ten week contract was completed on time, within budget and to the Client’s complete satisfaction.
Works included partial replacement structural steel frame, cladding, and a complete fit out including office, toilets, together with comprehensive M&E installations.
Specialist contractors were engaged to carry out the structural works whilst VBS experienced tradesmen completed the majority of the fit out works.
Roofing and fire-stopping work was carried out to the adjacent unit and this was done without any disruption to their business.
Surveying Management Services were the Project Managers acting on behalf of the Loss Adjusters
The culprit who set fire to the building has since been apprehended & prosecuted and is now serving a custodial sentence!
